New payment receipts: clean, beautiful and customizable

When a customer places an order in your store, he or she can print a payment receipt (also called “invoice”) on the “Thank you for your order” page. Merchants also can print these receipts and ship them along with the package with ordered items.

Every customer sees a payment receipt which makes it a part of your store’s image. We’re happy to release new payment receipts that will help to improve it: they are clean, beautiful and customizable.

New look of payment receipts

We’ve re-designed payment receipts from scratch. Their new look is clean and crisp. New receipt is also more economical in terms of page space and fits a single A4 page when printed.

Add your Tax ID or Business Registration Number

It’s now possible to add your company’s Tax ID or Business Registration Number to your invoices / payment receipts.

Laws of most European and a few other countries require the merchant to display some kind of seller registration ID on invoices. For example, VAT Reg No is required in UK, P.IVA in Italy, ABN in Australia and so on.

Ecwid now provides you with an easy way to conform with these requirements and add a Business Registration Number with just a few clicks. Open the Ecwid control panel, proceed to the System Settings → Invoice page and click the “Change” button.


Change your payment receipt template

Payment receipts are now fully customizable. You can change the text on your receipt to add important information, update the receipt’s look to match the unique style of your company or just change its format to fit a specific page size other than A4.

New receipts are powered by the same advanced template engine as our new email notifications, so the customization abilities are endless.

This feature is available for Business and Unlimited subscribers at no additional cost. If you’re subscribed to another plan, please consider upgrading your account.


How to enable this feature

If you registered your Ecwid account in the past month, new receipts are already enabled in your store. Please open the Settings → Invoice page in the Ecwid control panel to check and adjust your settings.

If you signed up for Ecwid before January 24, 2015, then please log in to the Ecwid control panel and open the System Settings → General → Migrations page. Enable the “Improved printed invoices” option and save changes. With new receipts enabled on your account, you will be able to manage new invoice settings on the Settings → Invoice page.


We recommend every Ecwid merchant to enable new payment receipts and modify them if necessary. Stay tuned for more updates!
