Looking for an E-commerce Solution

As with other agencies, Maze’s initial experience in working with e-commerce came at the request of their clients. It wasn’t until they had invested in an array of different e-commerce platforms that they soon realized the benefits and long-term advantages of offering their own platform. A standalone solution would allow them to scale revenue generated from reselling e-commerce and offer additional services to new clients.

With some clients already using WordPress to manage their websites, WooCommerce seemed like an obvious choice to invest in. However, WooCommerce required additional hosting expenses and the implementation process resulted in a lengthy turnaround that fell short of their client’s expectations.

Maze began researching alternative e-commerce platforms, prioritizing the most affordable solution for delivering customized stores in as little time as possible.

Comparing E-commerce Platforms

Maze invested in a few options, including Shopify and Volusion, both of which start at $29 per month for their basic plans.

They then found Ecwid, where basic paid plans are almost half the price, at only $15 per month.

Ecwid’s localization features also benefited Maze, because they could customize payment options relevant to the businesses operating in their region. With clients in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, this was not only a benefit, but practically a necessity.

Maze partners with multiple region-specific payment providers which are supported by Ecwid’s platform. And with 50 additional payment providers, Ecwid never penalizes you for using one over the other on any given transaction.

Advantages of a White Label Solution

Joining Ecwid’s white label partner program allows companies to purchase Ecwid plans at a deeply discounted price, rebrand them under their own platform, and resell them to their clients at a price that makes sense for them.

Maze partnered with Ecwid as a Gold level reseller, which gave them a 45% discount on all of Ecwid’s store subscription plans. Maze customized the platform with their own branding to release their first-ever SaaS product offered to clients, MEM Ecommerce.

Given the resale discount, Maze was able to offer e-commerce to clients at the competitive starting price of $19 per month, earning them a profit margin of nearly 60% on all monthly paid store plans!

With MEM Ecommerce, Maze had their client’s stores launch in as little as one to two business days. This speedy turnaround proved to be invaluable to Maze, as many small businesses in their community needed a quick online store solution.

The COVID pandemic along with the devastating explosion that took place in their home city of Beirut has forced many local brick-and-mortar businesses to start selling online. Maze reselling e-commerce has resulted in success for their clients as well, who have now seen a 335% increase in sales.
