Visit Slane Castle - Slane Castle, set in the middle of a 1,500 acre estate in the heart of the historic Boyne Valley, has been the Conyngham family home since 1701. The current owner is Lord Henry Mountcharles and his distinguished family fought on both sides of the Battle of the Boyne.

The Castle itself displays the collective talents of some of Ireland and England’s most distinguished architects and includes the famous Gothic ballroom. The parklands were laid out by the distinguished landscape architect, Capability Brown.

For over 25 years Slane Castle has been hosting famous Rock Stars at the now world famous open air rock concerts held within the great natural amphitheater below the Castle. Madonna, Queen, Robbie Williams, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Oasis and REM are just some of the bands that have performed in a magical spot between the Castle and the River Boyne.

This morning after breakfast we will visit Richmond Barracks

Originally the British Army barracks, the Richmond Barracks is now a historic museum following the footsteps of over 3,000 Irish rebels to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising. See the story unfold as prisoners were released or sent to prison camps in England, and Northern Ireland, while others were sentenced to death before they were sent to Kilmainham Gaol for execution.

After visit, get to know Dublin through a Walking Food Trail

A wonderful food and cultural experience off-the-beaten-track in Dublin that offers the visitor the opportunity to discover hidden tastes and be a local for the afternoon! It is also a great introduction to a lively but largely ignored part of the city. Soak in the history and culture; enjoy delicious foods in historic neighborhoods within a stone's throw of the city centre.

Meet the people whose family have traded in one spot for generations, and meet the people who have introduced new products to us reflecting the modern Irish table. Walk takes a gentle 2 ½ hours, and is led by an experienced and knowledgeable guide with a food background. You’ll visit food halls, fruit and flower stalls, cheese mongers, fishmongers, butchers and bakers and lots more besides.

Early this afternoon we will journey to Howth. Enjoy a Cruise around Ireland's Eye

Take in the breathtaking views from this amazing vantage point and see the beautiful bird and seal colony that is Irelands Eye. Look north towards Malahide and Lambay Island and South East towards Howth Head as you take this relaxing cruise. Sure you might even have a coffee or a glass of wine from our on board bar while you sail. Return back to your hotel.

After lunch, journey through Wicklow

County Wicklow is known as “the Garden of Ireland” it is home to Powerscourt, Mount Usher and Russborough, to name a few of its many houses and gardens. This region features all the various types of scenery that makes Ireland so beautiful.

The coastline is bordered by charming sea resorts such as Bray or Greystones. In the heart of its gentle and rounded hills are nestled Enniskerry and Avoca, both very picturesque villages. Discover its romantic and quiet beauty, the deserted mounts where nothing but heather grows, the small forests and the lush prairies illuminated by yellow gorse in spring.

Visit Avoca Handweavers

Established in 1723, Avoca Handweavers is a family owned craft design company which had its beginnings at the Old Mill at Avoca, County Wicklow where the weavers produced the beautifully woven fabrics which became Avoca's hallmark. Avoca Handweavers has a visitor centre which tells the story since 1723 and a mill tour where you meet the weavers at work.
