We start with a brand new Walbro WT1048 carb that was designed to work with our style Marine RC engines. We completely disassemble the carb and inspect all parts. We modify the ventury on the main body with a large Bellmouth done correctly so that it not only straightens the air going into the carb it gives the carb a stronger signal for better fuel distribution. We put a certain grain pattern on the ventury to eliminate the boundary layer of fuel and oil that form under high speed airflow at high RPM. We then add a stainless Steel throttle shaft with reliefs on each side the butterfly screw for better airflow through the carb body. The stainless shaft will also eliminate the bent or broken shafts that are a common problem in these style carbs. We then install a hardened C-clip to hold the shaft in place then a black anodized billet aluminum cup that traps the C-clip from being able to come off. We then add a aluminum billet black anodized pump cover with a deeper well then the factory stamped steel plate to allow the pump adequate clearance to get the job done under high RPM loads. We then top it off with a black anodized billet aluminum Needle clamp to stop your needles from coming out of adjustment even under the harshest conditions.
We have been modifying Walbro carbs since 1996 before most of my competitors where even in business, so don't be fooled by claims of modified carbs that are done on a machine that have stepped angles or too small of a bellmouth to work correctly. Get one that has proven itself in numerous national event wins and world records that are known to respond from a dead crawl idle to wide open throttle in an instant.
