Belli's, a grocery store that is the equivalent of a permanent indoor farmers market where shoppers can find local fruits and vegetables all year long.
Her introduction to healthy living started physically when she was 21 years old after cutting out the bad habits she had acquired from college. In one year she turned around her health through boxing, yoga, & running that initiated a nutritional change as well. She began volunteering for the Pilsen community farmer’s market that allowed her to further connect to local fresh produce, and was inspired to share this notion of healthy living with local communities in Chicago. As a presiding board member of the Pilsen Community Market since 2011, she has been passionately working to bring local, healthy food to Chicago through focusing her studies in graduate school on local food systems & by establishing & opening up Belli’s. Beyond boxing, running, & yoga; Alex’s hobbies also include urban farming, traveling, and experiencing other cultures.
Currently she's training to become an amateur triathlete while utilizing Belli's products to aid here towards a new health journey.
