Broken layout, menu problem

Hello Ecwid team
First to tell you this is amazing idea and excellent shoping cart. I for sure plan to buy silver edition (maybe even custom plan) but first need to see can I fix the isue what I encountered so far.
Can you please check the link : http://www.elegancereef.com/index.ph...d=62&Itemid=77
How I can make this more nice, so the menu will be on the left and category pictures on the right, not like now where is menu on the top of page and category pictures in the bottom.

Second why my store when is not under my joomla site have completly different layout with the vertical menu : https://app.ecwid.com/jsp/259126/simple-store

menu is to big and complete store/page look messed.

I need lots of categories so if I put all categories what I need my page will scroll forever to the right.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,

1. Hmm, I don't see any Ecwid store, if I open your site. Is it closed to public at this moment?

2. The "simple-store" link is a test one: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/24960498/...e-store%20link
Actually your Ecwid store can be installed to many places and in many configurations at the same time. This is one of the Ecwid advantages.

3. If you have a lot of root categories, I suggest disabling horizontal categories and using vertical ones.

Sorry, my apologize. Did not get reply and because I work on ecwid shop on live site I took him of line for visitors.
I disabled menu at all, did not find any solution so removed vertical and horizontal menu completly. Still is visible on this shop https://app.ecwid.com/jsp/259126/simple-store (horizontal menu) dont know why?

Anyway, I must say again, this ecwid shop is amazing, after working for years with virtuemart, e comerce, varoius comercial solution/script... nothing is even close to Ecwid, actually I can not believe that you offer this for free.

Still working on basic issue with them and getting familiar with the ecwid, when I get more familiar and used to him then I will jump to the next level (silver acount/design service...)

The layout of the simple store cannot be changed, it will stay the same. You cannot, say, change the categories from horizontal to vertical or change the number of items in one page displayed.

For a flexibility in customizing, you should concentrate over your own site. To put categories on the left add the following construct to your shop page:

Code:
<div style="overflow: hidden;">
    <div style="float: left; width: 220px;">
        LEFT
    </div>
    <div style="float: left; width: 700px;">
        RIGHT
    </div>
</div>
Now go to Ecwid control panel, Dashboard page, find the code for vertical categories menu, copy it and paste into your page where it currently says LEFT.

Now from Ecwid control panel, Dashboard page, copy the code of the first widget, the Product Browser. Put it into your page where it currently says RIGHT.

This way you will have vertical categories to the left of the product browser.

Hi, Eugene,

I am trying to do 2 things:

(1) change the categories menu from Horizontal (by default) to Vertical (on the left) - with menus rolling out to the right when hovering, and

(2) fit the size of the website nicely and snuggly into VKontakte -- at the moment it looks a bit ugly when integrate it -- a customer would need to scroll quite a long way to the right to see the entire menu and all front-page product categories (maybe #1 will automatically fix the #2 problem).

I tried to copy / paste the code you provided in this post to change to a Vertical category, but nothing has changed. I'd appreciate if you could provide a bit more instruction as to where in the code for Basecase CSS I need to copy / paste what and if this code is meant for vertical category orientation or only for vertical sub-categories?

thank you
Blanche

Could you give me the link to Vkontake page, where your store is installed?

hello, Maya,

I took the shop down from the Vkontakte page (did not want to be there due to the look and feel issues), but to let you see how it looks like to better visualize the issue, I've put it back in temporarily -- the link is http://vk.com/app1800176_-47698900
The ecwid store ID is 913087, just in case.
thank you,
Blanche

PS: Maya, I have another follow up question -- how can I change the icon (logo) of my ecwid shop that is displayed in Vkontatke? at the moment, I see the Ecwid logo, and cannot find any buttons in the "Nastroiki" to allow me to change this to my own store -- similar to how it was done, for instance, by the Vision Shop (http://vk.com/app2719161_-22857738)? THANK YOU!

Hi, I am having problems getting my categories to align to the left of my product browser. I have used the code above to align them to the left while my product browser is aligned to the right, but they are still showing up one on top of the other, not side by side. What am I doing wrong?

http://www.cvltnation.com/test-store

Here is the code I'm using:

<div style="overflow: hidden;">
<div style="float: left; width: 220px;">
<div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?720215" charset="utf-8"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> xVCategories("style="); </script>
</div>
</div>
<div style="float: right; width: 700px;">
<div id="my-store-720215">If you your browser does not support JavaScript, please proceed to its <a href="http://cvltnation.ecwid.com">simple HTML version</a>.</div><div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?720215" charset="utf-8"></script><script type="text/javascript"> xProductBrowser("categoriesPerRow=3","views=grid(3 ,3) list(10) table(20)","categoryView=grid","searchView=list"," style=","id=my-store-720215");</script>
</div>
</div>
</div>

Hi, I implemented the code you mentioned above, however my product browser is sitting low next to the vertical categories. Here is a link to my store: http://www.cvltnation.com/test-store

Hello,

I have checked your store and as far as I can see everything displayed properly there. Could you, please, confirm if the problem still exist and provide me with details how it can be reproduced?

Thank you.
