Hello,

Thanks for reaching us out!

Unfortunately, at the moment recurring subscriptions in Ecwid (so that your customer could subscribe to your products) is not supported. However, you can get it working with two workarounds. The first workaround includes PayPal Subscriptions and the second includes WordPress CMS and 2Checkout service.

1. Ecwid + PayPal Subscriptions

In this case your Ecwid store will work as a simple products catalog and all recurring billing will be fully processed on the PayPal's side. You will be able to check all your new subscriptions and the payments for existing ones in your PayPal merchant account.

In order to accomplish this, the PayPal Subscribe button code needs to be placed in the product description of each product that can be subscribed to.

To generate the Subscribe button you should:
  1. Go to the PayPal Subscriptions page
  2. Fill in required fields and click Create button
  3. Copy the Subscribe button code

Once you get the button code:
  1. Go to Ecwid control panel > Catalog > Products
  2. Open any product settings
  3. Find the Description field and press the HTML button on the top right side of this field
  4. Add the Subscribe button code in appeared textarea.

Please, note, that if you have several products with different recurring billings, the Subscribe button should be generated for each of them separately.

2. Ecwid + 2Checkout + WordPress

One of Ecwid users has worked out a solution for recurring billing in Ecwid with 2Checkout service and tested it in his store integrated to WordPress. If you are interested, please, refer to his article.

Also, you can vote for the recurring billing feature on our Ideas for Ecwid site and we will notify you when this feature will be fully implemented.

If there are any questions, feel free to contact us. We will be glad to help you!

Is there a way to disable the shopping bag, pricing and options tab to the right? After inserting the subscription button it is difficult to explain to people to click "subscribe" and not the traditional purchase method to the right.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

In order to hide the prices, add to bag button and the product options in the right panel of product details page, please use the following code:
Code:
.ecwid-productBrowser-price,
.ecwid-BuyNow,
.ecwid-AddToBagButton,
.ecwid-productBrowser-details-qtyPanel,
.ecwid-productBrowser-details-inStockLabel {
	display: none !important;
}
You will need to add it to Ecwid control panel > System settings > Design > Custom CSS Themes. More information on how to change Ecwid design: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...e-ecwid-design

I checked your Ecwid store and I can see that you successfully hid the add to bag button from the right panel on the product details page.

So your product details page looks like this at the moment: http://take.ms/iJC85

If you wish to hide the minicart widget as well, then please use this code:

Code:
.ecwid-minicart-mini,
.ecwid-minicart {
	display: none;
}
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you.

So it is possible now for customers to set up recurring payments and subscriptions? Is that available through the Wix app version of Ecwid?

Hello!

The only way to implement recurring payments in Ecwid is using the solutions from this Cyril's post:
http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showpost...62&postcount=2

Unfortunately there is no such built-in feature in Ecwid itself. You can vote for the recurring billing feature on our ideas base and we will notify you when this feature will be fully implemented.

Default Recurring payments please get your finger out !

Are you guys working on recurring payments ?

Seems very poor for this not to be available now some 5 years after it was first asked for ?

If not I will need to move away to another more proactive cart supplier

Please answer honestly as you cannot just keep people waiting like this

Many Thanks

Richard

Hello!

I’m sorry, but all the possible workarounds for setting up recurring payments in Ecwid have been described in Cyril’s post above.
There is no built-in solution for recurring billing in Ecwid yet.

Default Recurring Billing Answer Not Helpfull

Hi Anna

Sorry, but that reply was not helpful.

Can we try again, lets go for a multiple choice to help all us guys and girls in limbo get a straight answer to a straight question.

Question 1: Have Ecwid agreed to implement their own in-house recurring billing module?

a) Yes we have actually made a start and plans are in progress.
b) Yes in principle, but we have no formal planning or target dates yet.
c) No we have decided this is not for us and we are unwilling to say why.
d) We are still thinking about it, we are just slow, indecisive and uncooperative.

Question 2: When is the target date to complete recurring payment module?

a) Q1 2016
b) Q2 2016
c) We have no plans to do this right now
d) We cannot be bothered answering your multiple choice questions

Many Thanks

Richard

Hello Richard!

Thank you for spending your time to write such a detailed reply.

Ecwid does not plan on implementing recurring billing module in 2016.

However, the feature will be released by third-party developers as an application for Ecwid. Again, there is no exact date/period when the app will be ready, I am sorry.

Once the recurring billing becomes possible with Ecwid, we will update the thread.
