Possible to set up Vertical Category Menu in wix?

Hi

I've just started with Wix and Ecwid variation. I want to have a left aligned vertical menu for my categories...is this possible for wix and how do I do it? I think this is a wix site using Ecwid:

http://www.brisbanepopculture.com/#!online-store/c1ktg

Would love to achieve this kind of layout. This is how far i've got (not very far)

http://www.globalamulets.com/#!online-store/c1bcu

Thanks.

Hello Amanda,

Please, refer to this article for details how to add vertical categories like on provided example: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25211

Note that in order to add vertical categories in this way, you will need to use manually Ecwid store installation to Wix: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/57960651/Wix

Good luck!

Hello Mandi,

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that you should chnage original code a bit. Please, use following HTML code to place vertical categories menu on the left:
Code:
<table>
<tr>
<td style="vertical-align: top;padding-top: 140px;"><div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?4170008" charset="utf-8"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> xVCategories("style="); </script>
</div></td>
<td style="vertical-align: top;"><div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?4170008" charset="utf-8"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> xProductBrowser("categoriesPerRow=4","views=grid(4,4) list(10) table(20)","categoryView=grid","searchView=list","style="); </script>
<noscript>Your browser does not support JavaScript. Please proceed to <a href="https://app.ecwid.com/jsp/4170008/catalog">HTML version of this store</a></noscript>
</div></td>
</tr>
</table>
I also suggest you to reduce number of products in row for grid view from 4 to 3 as it doesn't fit to your site's container now.

If you have any other questions, please, feel free to ask.

Is there a reference doc explaining the differences between using the Wix Ecwid Widget vs. using the "manual installation" method?

Thank you very much for the message.

Please, let me tell you a couple of words about Wix application. First of all, official Ecwid Wis app is available only for Ecwid customers, registered through Wix. For the rest of users, Ecwid could integrated manually into Wix website.

Manually integrated Ecwid is 100% operable web store application. But there is the following difference between official Ecwid Wix app and manually integrated Ecwid.

Manually integrated Ecwid has:

- No responsive design functions are allowed for manual installation. Ecwid storefront itself is responsive and can adapt to any screen width. But Wix has a separate mobile mode, that requires apps to be compatible with it. We designed our app to be fully compatible with Wix mobile mode.
- No SEO features available for manual installation. Its content can't be indexed by search engines.
- Product/category’s web address won't change in address bar when you browse manual installation, i.e., you can’t get direct links to the store pages.

In this case, it’s obvious that official Wix Ecwid app provides us with more advantages.

Here is the instruction for official Wix Ecwid app installation: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...es/1213172-wix
And here is the instruction regarding the manual Ecwid app installation into Wix website.
