RokEcwid 500 View Not Found


I successfully installed the RokEcwid component in my Joomla 3 site. However, when I paste my store id then press the Save & Close button I get this error:

An error has occurred.
500 View not found [name, type, prefix]: rokecwid, html, rokecwidView

All versions are latest. Any ideas?

It's in the RokEcwid Component Panel in the Backend Administrator of Joomla, so I'm not sure how good a url will do, but here it is:

The same thing happened to me when I installed ecwid on the Joomla 3.0 system. Any luck finding the issue?

It said "An error has occurred.
500 View not found [name, type, prefix]: rokecwid, html, rokecwidView"

We're looking into the issue. We will get back to you soon.


UPDATE:

We've tested it on fresh install of Joomla 3.1.0 and RokEcwid module without any problem.

However, I looked for similar topics on the web and it seems like the issue is related to a deprecated function, which has been updated in Joomla 3.x . The RokEcwid plugin also uses that function. The weird thing about it that the problem is only reproduced on a few hosts. So, the issue affects a few Joomla 3.x users only.

We will update the Rokecwid code soon, so that the issue will be fixed for all users who decide to install it.

Meanwhile, here is a workaround that should help.

1. Locate the Joomla folder on your server and find this file in it:
administrator/components/com_rokecwid/rokecwid.php

2. Open the file in a text editor and replace this line:

$controller->execute(JRequest::getCmd('task'));
with this one:
Code:
$controller->execute(JFactory::getApplication()->input->get('task'));
Then refresh your Joomla admin panel in browser and try setting your store ID again. Please let us know if you have any questions.
