New Joomla extensions

Hi,

We are glad to inform you that the updated plugins for Joomla (versions 1.5 , 1.6 , 1.7 , 2.5 , 3.0) are ready. You can download the installation packages here: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/15853297/Joomla#Installation .

What's new?
Mainly, the improvements are in the SEO part:
1) Support of the Google’s “AJAX Crawling” API for native indexing of AJAX applications has been added. It is a successor of the Inline SEO Catalog feature. More details:This feature requires access to our API and is enabled automatically if you are our paid user.

2) Auto-generated meta titles and descriptions for product pages and support of microformats to get rich snippets in search engine results pages.

These improvements will significantly enhance the indexation of Ecwid stores on Joomla-based sites.

Additionally, the new plugin includes several minor improvements and fixes.

Installation.
For Joomla 1.6 , 1.7 , 2.5, 3.0 users: please install the extension as usually (Extensions → Extensions manager → Upload package file)

For Joomla 1.5 users:
If you don't have RokEcwid component installed yet, please install it as usually (Extensions → Upload package file).
If you already have RokEcwid extension installed in your Joomla 1.5 site and need to upgrade it, please pay attention to the fact that due to the limitations of Joomla 1.5, it is necessary to re-install the component rather than updating it. How to do it properly in Joomla 1.5 :
- Uninstall RokEcwid component (Extensions → Install/Uninstall → Components)
- Uninstall RokEcwid modules (Extensions → Install/Uninstall → Modules)
- Install the new component (Extensions → Install/Uninstall → Components)
- Set the component settings (Components → Ecwid), at least set the store ID
- Create custom sidebar modules if needed: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/15853297/...esnbspoptional
- Set the proper type for the menu item referring to the store page: Open Menus → Main menu → [Store page menu item], click 'Change type' and select the 'Ecwid default layout' type, even if it is already selected.

Update: A new version of our Joomla extension with a lot of great improvements is available - Ecwid for Joomla v2.0 . Please refer to this thread for more details: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26770

The plugin for Joomla versions 1.6 - 2.5 was released at the end of December 2012, we informed of this here:
http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthre...3455#post73455

So, if you've already installed that plugin, you won't need to upgrade now, this announce mentions the same version of plugin for 1.6 - 2.5 .

It's enabled by default, since everyone wants it. There is no need in option that has to be always enabled, so we've finally removed it. Everything works without it.

I mean not option in the backpanel, but in the frontend there is only message "Your browser does not support JavaScript.HTML version of this store" and the link to http://app.ecwid.com/jsp/xxxxxx/catalog. In the old version of the plugin there was whole catalog under my domain name.

The new plugin uses another approach for making your store indexable. It does generate the plain version of your product pages for search engines, but it does so under special requests (_escaped_fragment_ versions of URLs). More details:

Of course. The Google's AJAX indexing specification supported by the most popular search engines: Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex. More details:

Default Does extension support multiple stores?

I want to allow my Joomla users to sell their products through my site. Does the extension support multiple ecwid store's? If not, what alternatives are there to support this? Is the extension GPL?
