E-product delivery link not in customer email

Hi everyone,

We are just setting up an ECWID store for our customers to purchase a pdf file. According to the info here on the forum and in FAQs, we have configured everything correctly - uploaded the file, configured our storefront and shop URL, configured customer mail settings, etc.

The problem is that, when we have done test purchases (3!), the email arrives to our customer account but the link to download the file is missing. There is a link that re-directs to the site but requires a login that we never signed up to (states optional in initial order form).

Any ideas? Your help much appreciated!

Lucy

Any ideas from the Ecwid team?

Thanks

Hello Lucy,

Ecwid sends a notification with the download link only after the order gets Accepted or Chargeable payment status. In your case, did the orders get 'Accepted' status?

Also, did you change the email notifications templates in your control panel?

I can test it in your store myself, if you don't mind. For that, I will need to temporarily enable one of offline payment methods (e.g. Phone order) in your Ecwid store settings and place a test order. May I do that?

Hi Matvey,

Yes, we would be more than happy for you to do that. The orders were marked as accepted and we have left the email templates as per default settings.

Many thanks for your help with this.

Hi Lucy,

Thank you.

I've tested it myself. It appears to be a bug in the Spanish default email template in Ecwid which caused the issue. We're fixing it now. There is also a quick workaround. The details are below.

As you may see in the E-Goods downloads email template, besides the store info and text labels, there are specific keywords printed in capital letters, e.g INICIO ARTICULO -- FINAL ARTICULO, START OFFICE -- END OFFICE . Those keywords are used by Ecwid for creating order information blocks in a real notification (e.g. a customer information block, products info block etc.). The thing is they should be constant English phrases like 'START ITEM', 'END ITEM' etc. But in Spanish version they're replaced with Spanish words (INICIO ARTICULO) by mistake, which results in Ecwid not recognizing the keywords.

Our engineers are working on this at the moment. Meanwhile, please do the following in order to quickly fix it in your store:
1) Open the mail notifications settings page in your control panel
2) Click 'Edit message' beside the 'Egoods download' template
3) Edit the mail template:
- replace 'INICIO REGISTRADO' phrase with 'START REGISTERED' and 'FINAL REGISTRADO' with 'END REGISTERED'
- replace 'INICIO ARTICULO' with 'START ITEM' and 'FINAL ARTICULO' with 'END ITEM'
4) Save the changes

That should fix the broken email template and the download links will appear in the notifications. Please let us know if it doesn't help.

Sorry for the troubles caused by the issue.

UPDATE on this issue: we've fixed the bug in the default Spanish email templates. The problem you initially discovered should be fixed now and all default templates should work fine.
