Responsive Ecwid Vertical Categories

Hello,

Is it possible for Ecwid plugin for wordpress to have a responsive Ecwid Vertical Categories widget?

As is if I check my store on my mobile the Vertical Categories Widget cuts part of the categories text as it does not fit all info in screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hello,

I’m sorry that you’ve faced such an issue. As you may know, Ecwid Product Browser has fully responsive layout and it adjusts to various screens. Categories widget, horizontal and vertical, is not responsive yet, unfortunately. But we will definitely continue to improve other widgets and modify them with responsive design. Meanwhile I can recommend you to slightly decrease the font size of category titles by means of CSS and adjust the way they look on narrow screens. The following article will show you, how you can modify the widget: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...icalCategories

Please note - the HORIZONTAL custom css codes for font size can be used for vertical too:

Quote:
/* root categories, first level category links */
span.ecwid-categories-category {
font-size:16px;
}
/* subcategories, second level category links */
div.ecwid-categoriesMenuBar span.ecwid-categories-category {
font-size:14px;
}
/* 3rd, 4th, etc level category links */
div.ecwid-categories-MenuBarPopup div.ecwid-categoriesMenuBar span.ecwid-categories-category {
font-size:13px;
}

Replace 16px, 14px and 13px with any values you want.

I also think ecwid menu should be responsive for mobile-tablet. I have same issue and very big vertical menu on left side of shop, when viewing from pc that is ok but for mobile is not ok, it is above shop in mobile/tablet view and need loots of scroling to get to the shop , every visitors first need to do loot of scroling to come to the page he wont to check, every time.

I think that should be made priority in future upgrades, design what we have now for ecwid menu is very old fashioned, today all shops or site have responsive menu except us. Is to bad because rest of ecwid is prety much good in responsive view, except menu.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I am very sorry you have faced this issue.

At the moment the main part of the Ecwid shops - product browser, which contains the products - is fully responsive and adjusts to screens of any size. Additional widgets (like horizontal and vertical categories) are not responsive yet, and we are certainly working on making them responsive as we understand very well that nowadays lots of people are browsing from mobile devices, and we want our clients’ shops to look great in any environment.

Hey Carlos,

Sorry to butt in, but I might have some help for you.

I'm not sure if you have an Ecwid account with API access, but if you do, you can try my Accordion widget:

http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31979

I believe the text should wrap and not be cut off, although some of that is theme-dependant.
