Shipping in Malaysia

Hi everyone, I am facing problem to create shipping charges in my country. I am confused over Destination Zones & Shipping Methods.. What should i do to these settings in order to have my shopping cart to detect customer location and calculate the shipping charges?

My intention is to have 3 options:
1) West Malaysia (Shipping charge is depending on weight)
2) East Malaysia (Shipping charges is depending on weight)
3) Local Pick-up (Free)

Please correct me if i am wrong, i need to create zones in order to detect my customer location? I tried to create zones for the 3 options, but i am not able to add states/provinces to each options.

Eg. - States/Provinces that under each options
1) West Malaysia - Penang, Kuala Lumpur, etc..
2) East Malaysia - Sabah & Sarawak..
3) Local Pick-up - Kedah..

Any feedback is very much appreciate!

You're right, you need to create a separate zone for each customer location.

We can add states of Malaysia to Ecwid, so, you will be able to create zones. Can you send us the list of the states?

Thank you for your reply.

Please refer to this link for states of Malaysia. http://www.malaysia.gov.my/EN/Main/M...rritories.aspx

You will see Malaysia consists of 13 states (Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu) & 3 Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan).

To make it simple, there should be separated into 14 different states. They are Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Terengganu and Wilayah Persekutuan. It is because Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya & Labuan are Cities.

Most likely they will appear in the next minor Ecwid version.

Hello!

I'm adding states of Malaysia to Ecwid.
To be able to add states we need to know their unique code. I use ISO codes from this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_...es_of_Malaysia

Unfortunately I cannot find an ISO code for Wilayah Persekutuan you have mentioned.

Could you please tell me which code should be used for Wilayah Persekutuan?

Wilayah Persekutuan is commonly known as Kuala Lumpur. In this case, the ISO will be MY-14.

Thank you very much for the work!
