Hi,

When going to checkout for a payment it now takes me to a whole new screen when wanting to pay by card or by paypal, I am worried as this does not feel smooth and will obviously impact a customers thoughts on the safety of and security of the site.

Previously the site used to allow you to put in the card details whilst still at the same site however now it takes me to a whole new location. Can someone explain why this is happening or what I can do to fix it as I am worried

Most of the Payment methods allow paying directly in your store (without redirection). Please check this video: https://ecwid.d.pr/r3rYAX

The redirection happens if your store runs via insecure HTTP connection (without SSL certificate) - https://seopressor.com/blog/http-vs-https/ This requirement exists for the security of your customers' sensitive data.

That's a regular practice on many websites taking you to a separate window of a corresponded payment system. I don't think users will be worried.
