How can the shipping information fields be removed or disabled from checkout of e-goods items? Since e-good are simple downloads there isn't any value in collecting shipping information? Hopefully this can be disabled as currently it seems to be required?

Yes, they can be disabled. Just empty the weight field of all your e-goods items and Ecwid will not ask for a shipping address anymore.

Thank you for the reply. You are correct once no weight is entered it doesn't ask for shipping info. But it's still asking for billing information. In theory, if it's a free download and paypal payment - no billing information is required. Can that be disabled?

At this moment, Ecwid always asks for a billing address. PayPal requires it always too.

Also, PayPal doesn't allow payments with a zero total, so I suggest using another payment method for such orders.

If a customer is purchasing an egood item using their EXISTING paypal account (payment method PAYPAL) then NO INFORMATION should be required other than the person logging in to their paypal account to make the payment.

I make online payments all the time using my paypal account and am NEVER asked for any information up front.

How do we turn this 'information' requirement OFF because that is part of the security of using paypal in the first place by NOT having their information strewn out all over the internet.

This is intrusive to the customers that are used to paying via paypal and will result in LOST sales as well as creating an UNnecessary security risk and INCONVENIENCE for the potential customers.

I don't recall ecwid requiring this information a while back, however the requirement to fill it in is turning away customers. I only need their email address and name. How can I remove the request for phone number and address?

The 'Skip payment method selection, if the order total is zero' feature has been released with the version 11 of Ecwid.

But now we get a new serious problem! Ecwid leaves out of the shipping costs!
e-product can also be shipping costs as e-payments are not free.
How this problem is solved?

Why is it a problem? E-goods can have their shipping cost too - just assign some weight to the product and set up a per item rate in the product settings or a global shipping cost calculation formula.

This is ok, but after this, Ecwid want delivery address. This is a broblem.
E-goods asking delivery address = ?
How we can prevent the delivery address a query in this case?
