How to give customer ebook after purchase on autopilot?

I've been selling ebooks (pdf files) with PayPal buttons for years, and I can set PayPal up to send the customer to a download page to get their ebook after purchase. This way it runs on autopilot and I don't have to send the pdf file to the customer.

Having trouble figuring this out with Ecwid. There must be a way to automatically send the pdf file to the customer or to direct them to the download page.

The system must run on autopilot if I am away for days on end. Thanks for any advice.

I currently sell digital goods (e.g. an ebook) with Ecwid. Once you add a file to a product in your control panel, Ecwid will automatically send an email to the customer after purchase goes through with a link for them to download the file.

You also have to enable the Customer Email notification for an egood download (System Settings -> Mail -> Customer Notifications).

This works great for me so far. The only problem I have had using Ecwids delivery system is that sometimes the download email ends up in the customer's spam folder. I don't credit this to Ecwid, however. I really don't know a way to get around super strict spam filters.

What if the ebook is free? Can it be set up to send the download link in the "Thank you for your purchase page" instead of the second email after I confirm payment? I didn't think I would have to confirm payment if the book was free, but I do.

Yes, it is possible. Please refer to this article:

What if order total is zero? Can a customer skip payment methods selection in this case?

Please forgive the duplicate post, but, what if you want to throw in a second download, something free as a "thank you?"

Thanks,

Dennis

You can upload multiple files to one product. Therefore you could just add the free download as a second file to your product.

Learned what I needed and am happy with Ecwid as a shopping option.
