Ebook and Download files purchased send as a gift to another email?

Hello,

I'm just wondering how I can set up a downloadable product (eBook) with the option of it being a Gift Purchase. So, essentially the buyer can choose the item, pay and then somehow submit the gift receiver's email for the download file instead of their own.

Is that possible?

Thank you!

Ecwid sends an email notification with the download link to the customer’s email address, which s/he entered during registration. Unfortunately, there is no functionality in Ecwid, which allows to set email address where download link should be send.

However, you can create custom script based on Order and Instant Order Notifications APIs. Please, refer to this post for details: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?p=33617

Any news on this?
Seemingly you can do it for physical goods, but not for egoods?

I suppose one could enter the recipient's email address when filling out one's details, but that is not ideal, as the recipient would get the bill as well.

Hi,

Thank you for your question.
This feature is not implemented yet.
Please vote for this idea to be posted as any news will appear.

While it's not implemented, you can consider a workaround described in this thread on our forums: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24861

Please let me know if you have anymore questions. I'll be glad to help you.
