Hello, I have a customer in another country that wants to make a bulk purchase of many products. For this, I would like to extend a discount to him, and not charge him shipping. Example, 25% discount on the order and then no shipping charge during checkout. How can I set this up in Ecwid so he can place his order?
Not possible at the moment Mike, we use tis workaround because obviously you are in communication with them
We have a product called instant that is hidden. When a customer wants something different we go to control panel, modify prices and details quickly, then enable. They buy, we then hide the product again.
I think I came up with the solution, haven't tested it yet. I created a coupon as normal. Then I created a new zone for this one country and made the shipping free for that zone. So he should get the discount when he applies the coupon, then when he checks out, there should be a free shipping option for him. I temporarily modified my International zone by removing that country from it. What do you think?
Yes, that should work. Of course if it is a single large order you could simply work out the shipping as part of the overall cost, then give the % discount that will end up with the right amount.
I suppose there are a few workarounds, shame we can't simply stack coupons
I just did a test, seems to be working ok so we'll see what happens! It has a bigger impact on the customer for him to be able to select free shipping, instead of showing a shipping fee but working it into the discount; that's why I wanted to do it this way..
I just had to do this but didn't think of creating a new zone for the customer's country! That's a great idea. I just made a free shipping option that said "Free Shipping for [customer name) ONLY!!" and then erased it after she checked out. It worked since she was checking out right away so not many (if any) other customers even saw it... I too wish that we could just stack coupons.

Also, I should add, that there is a top idea about applying discounts without coupons. Most likely, it will be possible to mix such discounts with coupons.
