Question

Wholesale and sales taxes

1. is there anyway to add an extra field for wholesalers(with resale #)when creating an account.
2. is there a way to setup sales tax options, since wholesalers with resale # will not be charged (we will sell retail and wholesale).

In Ecwid it is possible to assign retail and wholesale price for the same product at the same time using Bulk Discount Pricing. This feature allows you to offer tiered pricing of each product based on quantity tiers. So for your retail customers you can offer the products with basic price and for your wholesale customers you can provide wholesale prices for big orders starting, let’s say, from 50 items. Please, refer to this article for details: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/54816203/...ount%20pricing

Currently there is no other built-in functionality allowing to have different prices for different customers. Please vote for the following idea to get notified when it is released:

As a workaround I can suggest you creating two categories in your store with the same products but with different prices. You can create a password protected page within your website where the wholesale category will be added, so that that only certain customers could enter the wholesale category. Please, refer to this article for instructions on displaying different categories on different store pages: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/27229589/...differentsites

In case you use the workaround I described above - creating two separate categories with retail and wholesale price, it is possible to assign taxes only to the retail category. You will need to create the taxes using the instruction from this article: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/15853314/Taxes
After you do this you will need to assign the taxes to only certain products (with retail prices) in your control panel on the Catalog -> Products -> Product details page, Tax and Shipping tab.

Hello,

Yes, the suggested workaround implies that you create duplicates of the same products but assign different prices to them - wholesale prices for one category and retail prices for another, and display these categories on different site pages. You can password protect the "wholesale" page so that that only certain customers could enter the wholesale category. This article contains detailed instructions on how to display different categories on different pages: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/27229589/...differentsites
