Shopping Cart doesn't show up on iPhone or other Smartphones

It does, however, show up fine on an iPad, so I have to assume it isn't an iOS issue. I need my cart to be accessible by all devices and I'm under the impression that this should not be a problem. The page in question is http://www.desports.org/membership/ios/
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

Ecwid is designed to be a responsive storefront which can be viewed and accessed on any device, including mobile.

I found out that your website is built using the services of 1&1 website builder. Unfortunately this site builder disables any 3rd party applications for mobile view, therefore Ecwid is not displayed for mobile visitors of your website. Please refer to this thread on our forums to learn more info about this 1&1 issue: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23296

As a workaround I suggest you to add a link to your starter site: https://dsmhof.ecwid.com/ on your site so your customers can open your store on their mobile devices.
Thank you.

There is actually something called MyWebsite that is several steps above 1&1's Website Builder. It actually comes with a Ecwid web app which is why I chose Ecwid over PayPal in the first place. It shows up on the iPad so why is it not disabled for that mobile device? I read http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23296 before I posted and I don't think it applies. I understand that widgets don't show up on mobile and that is why I am redirecting those users to a page with the web app installed. I will used the workaround with the starter site for now, but I'm not satisfied that this would be the only solution. Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for clarification.

Upon further checking your website I found out that your store is actually loading on mobile, however it is hidden by a CSS rule in the body of your website, see my screenshots below:

- Rule enabled: http://take.ms/gxyLP
- Rule disabled: http://take.ms/5vpZh

Here's the full CSS code, taken from your website:
Code:
@media screen and (min-device-width: 1024px) {
            .mediumScreenDisabled { display:block }
            .smallScreenDisabled { display:block }
        }
        @media screen and (max-device-width: 1024px) { .mediumScreenDisabled { display:none } }
        @media screen and (max-device-width: 568px) { .smallScreenDisabled { display:none } }
                @media screen and (min-width: 1024px) {
            .mobilepreview .mediumScreenDisabled { display:block }
            .mobilepreview .smallScreenDisabled { display:block }
        }
        @media screen and (max-width: 1024px) { .mobilepreview .mediumScreenDisabled { display:none } }
        @media screen and (max-width: 568px) { .mobilepreview .smallScreenDisabled { display:none } }
Basically there are two classes:
- smallScreenDisabled
- mediumScreenDisabled

The above code works this way:
- Elements with these classes will display if the minimum width of the device is 1024px
- Elements with class 'mediumScreenDisabled' will be hidden if the maximum device width is 1024px
- Elements with class 'smallScreenDisabled' will be hidden, if the maximum device width is 568px

Let's take a look at the code of the page we will see the following:
- desktop http://take.ms/gnKNxa
- iPad retina http://take.ms/GsUfj
- iPhone http://take.ms/rQfCP

So we established that the CSS rule hides elements with class .smallScreenDisabled for devices which have max device width 568px. On your website the element where you add Ecwid, always has the class 'smallScreenDisabled' so this means that:
- Your Ecwid will display if the device's width is more than 568px (FYI iPad has 768px)
- Your Ecwid store will be hidden if the device's width is less than 568px (iPhone)

So in conclusion it all comes down to the device that you are using and it's width. This setting appears to be in the websites for 1&1 site builder and it doesn't come from Ecwid in any way. So please use the workaround I suggested in my previous post so that your mobile customers will also be able to purchase items from your Ecwid store. Also you can move your website to Wordpress, Joomla or Wix website builder and provide your customers with a online shopping experience on your website for mobile users as well as for users with other devices.
Thank you.
