Shop loads very slow in Facebook

Hi there,

I have created a few websites with Facebook shops and keep getting the same complaints: the webshop loads fast enough - within 2-3 secs, but the Facebook shop takes a whole lot longer up to 28 secs. I wonder if there is anything I can do to speed it up or if I am better off to divert the Facebook clients to the website shop instead?

I am using Firefox myself and I have also checked the shops below and your demo store in Explorer.

Here are a few of the shops:

Thanks in advance,
Inge

Inge, use pingdom to diagnose. http://tools.pingdom.com/

I tested in chrome and firefox - your stores load very quickly...

Thanks Mike.

I checked it in Pingdom and it loads pretty quickly but much slower in real life though. I also had many complaints that it has been around 28 sec; which is not acceptable - is there maybe a quick fix I can apply that speeds it up?

Hi Qetzal,

Correct, I am (normally) located in Australia. I am in Europe at the moment though on holidays.

One of the ECWID shops is Australian the other is Dutch. My partner in Australia has received many 'complaints' about the Australian ECWID shops that is takes around 28 secs to load.

I have checked them in different browsers myself and they have an average of 6-8 secs - while Pingdom only needs, 1.65 secs to load.

Would there be a reason for the shop to load that slow?

As to access speed to Ecwid from Australia please refer to this thread: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12057

Amazon, which servers and services we use to host Ecwid have just added an edge location in Sydney, Australia. It means that if you're located in Australia, Ecwid stores should load faster.

I would like to ask our Australian users to open our demo store and check it out: http://www.ecwid.com/demo-frontend.html
How is it loading for you?

hi,
i am having a similar problem, but in in UK. i tried pingdom and it loaded fast on there, but as OP, in real life it can take over 30secs. also im finding the actual Ecwid website can take well over 30 secs to open for some reason, infact it normally freezes IE9 totally and i get the "not responding" thing in the tabs. this all started about 2 maybe 3 weeks ago. i have had no problems on any other website.
here is my FB shop

Hello,

I've inspected you store. As far as I can see, its loading speed is quite acceptable. It actually loads in 4-5 seconds for me. I'd like to point out that it is not only Ecwid widgets loading time - it is the time of the whole store page loading. Facebook page itself takes more than half of that time to load. Moreover, I've checked simple version of your store (http://app.ecwid.com/jsp/1223094/simple-store) - it loads very fast.

However, I understand that it may load slowly in your case as you have different Internet connection and software on your side. That's why we always ask to test your store in different environments in order to find out what causes speed issues:
http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/25986445/...0to%20fix%20it

In particular, could you answer the following:
1. How your simple store (http://app.ecwid.com/jsp/926016/simple-store) works for you?
2. How our demo store works for you?
3. What browser do you use? Did you try using other browsers?
4. Can you test your store using other Internet connection?
5. Do you have any antivirus/firewall software installed on your computer? If so, please try to disable it temporary and test again.

Thanks.
