Link to ecwid store product from FB photo album

Hi all

I have read various posts about linking to products and am so far either unable to follow the instructions or unable to get it to work.

I am finding that many of my fans don't actually look in my shop. To get around this I have been creating photo albums with my new products pictured and in the photo description putting a link to my ecwid store, however I can only get it to link to my storefront not directly to the new product.

Is it possible to place a link direct to a specific product next to a photo description in albums on FB? If so how do I do this? Normally I would just go to the page and copy the address but I have noticed that regardless of what category or product I am in that the internet address always stays the same???

Any help would be really great!

2 ways:

1) enable the FB Likes in the Ecwid control panel > System settings > Social Tools, go like your product in your FB store, then visit your timeline on Facebook and copy the URL of the link in the new liking post. Sharing this URL on your business page's timeline will automatically attach the image and name of the product.

2) construct a permalink to category/product as detailed here http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?p=50569

Hi,

I tried both, but I couldn't sort it out.

When I liked my product, it generated a link which is not available: (https://s-static.ak.facebook.com/pla...~~mode=product)

In this link I could figure out the category ID and product ID as well, so I followed the second link:

http://www.facebook.com/LINK_TO_YOUR...tegory=2411124

https://www.facebook.com/conversedor...tegory=3305122

https://www.facebook.com/conversedor...oduct=33619050

Neither of them work. What do you suggest?

Maybe it happens, because I set custom html code to my facebook tab?

Hi,

Yes, I'm afraid the problem is indeed that you have setup Custom HTML tab. This way you're actually using custom installation of Ecwid on Facebook. Facebook displays the apps in iframes, which imposes certain restrictions as to, e.g., by default there's no way for external resources to refer to particular pages within the app. In our official app we developed special mechanism allowing overcoming this. That's why we'd recommend swithing to use of our app:
at https://apps.facebook.com/ecwid-shop/ -> Settings> "Catalog" setting.
Please check.
