Question

We need the New Coinbase Crypto Payments integration

Hello there,

Coinbase just launched yesterday the e-commerce crypto payments. It's zero fees for merchants and we have total control over our wallet, not Coinbase. Plus the nice thing is that can be integrated easily.

https://commerce.coinbase.com/

Right now I can add it already, but I can grab from customer only the name and e-mail. Would be nice to have it integrated in the checkout of ecwid so that i can collect the shipping address also.

If shopify did it, I think we must do it also. This is really a nice way to make crypto go mainstream with the userbase Coinbase has.

So can we do it?

Hello!

My name is Anastasia, Ecwid Support. Thank you for contacting us! I will be glad to answer your question.

At the moment, the Coinbase Crypto Payments is not integrated with Ecwid. However, there are 2 options how you can add it to your store:

1) If Coinbase supports Authorize.Net SIM emulation you can set it up using this instruction. If you are not sure whether Coinbase can emulate Authorize.Net, please contact Coinbase Customer Support directly to check it, for example, via email: support@coinbase.com . If they support it, they will also give you further instructions.

2) You can add Coinbase payment method to your store using Ecwid API: https://developers.ecwid.com/api-documentation. This will require advanced programming skills and knowledge. If you need help with it, you can send a request to our customization team at https://ecwidcom.typeform.com/to/vIlijv who can help you on a paid basis. They will evaluate the task and email you the details.

Also, if you want to add the option for your customers to pay with cryptocurrencies, you can use the payment gateways which are already integrated with Ecwid:

- CoinPayments
- BitPay

I hope this will be helpful for you.
Please, let us know if you have any further questions.
