You can currently collect whatever additional data about the whole order being made with the order comments field (which may be renamed to anything you like). So it is possible to ask for delivery data on checkout in your store right now.
Since 2009 our developer team has completed and released a vast number of features in Ecwid, those were comparably essential to online selling, so they are in no way drowsing, they are busy every day, night and weekend.
The idea you talk about includes not just a single date field, but the whole system of managing and showing many various types on additional fields on checkout, collecting the data from them and showing that data appropriately in Ecwid control panel or in the admin and customer notifications. Just from the description - this is huge. This can be done wrong in so many ways, which is not what you or we would ever want. So the best wake up call for the Ecwid team regarding this feature would be a clear description from you on how you expect this functionality to work for you: what type of fileds you would add, how the customers are to interact with those fields (starting with - are those fields required or optional?), how and where the data collected from those fields is displayed. Add this as a comment to that idea - this will let us know exactly what one of the anticipators of that functionality really expects. The more such information we have, the better and the sooner we complete the feature. Thank you.
