Hello,

In order to let your customers select a delivery date, you can use the built-in Ecwid's features - datepicker product options and order comments.

1. Datepicker product options.
You can add a datepicker option to a product - it is an input box with the popup calendar. A customer will be able to select a desired date before adding a product to the cart. It'll look like this:

This way, if you add such an option to each product, it'll be possible to specify delivery date for each cart item.

2. Order comments.
Ecwid has a tool that allows you to ask the customer for additional information during checkout. You can enable this feature in your control panel (System → General → Cart → Order Comments) and allow your customers to write notes and add specific information to their orders. After orders are placed they will display as notes in the backend.

This feature can be used to collect any specific information or considerations that your customers would like to attach to an order. Particularly, they can put there preferred delivery time (as a plain text), if you set a corresponding capture for that comment field:

Thanks. I love this feature .

But for our business (Catering food supply) which allow limited numbers of booking (events) for each day may need a few additional adds on your date picker Calendar.

Dear Makfruit,
Is it possible to :
1) Have this features available on Checkout too or during payment was made?
2) And the calendar has dates available/closed for booking.
3) Enable reject on last minute order (as order must be made with at least 3 days in advance)?

A delivery date selector on the checkout would be much more useful than in the product options.. we currently use the date picker on certain products but it does lead to quite a bit of confusion as customers are able to select any delivery date includeing non working / non delivery days.

It would be great if we could have a delivery date picker in the checkout that can be managed to allow / disallow certain dates / days of the week. and holidays etc.

Unfortunately, there is no such tool in Ecwid yet. If you want it to be added, please vote for this suggestion in our ideas base:

We will implement it as soon as it gets enough votes.

In the meantime, you can use the workaround suggested in my previous post (order comments) .

Hi there

What i'm looking at doing is the following:

anytime up to 1pm customer can order a product for same day delivery, but after 1pm the default day is tomorrow using the delivery calendar (and todays date wouldnt be available)

Is this possible? I'm assuming that this would be a great feature for dropshippers etc who have their own next day delivery cut offs too.

Currently, Ecwid allow to create different shipping methods, but doesn't allow to choose the delivery time for them. If you consider that this functionality should be added in Ecwid, please, vote for this idea here: http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-...on-of-delivery and we will email you when it is released.

As a temporary workaround, I suggest you to create two shipping methods:
- Shipping (today) that will be shown for your customers until 1pm by your local time.
- Shipping (next day) that will be always available.

Once these methods will be created you will need to develop special script with help of our Javascript API that will detect local customer's time, match it with your time and show shipping methods depending on what time is it now. Until 1pm both shipping methods will be shown, after 1pm - Shipping (next day) only.

I cant believe we are still waiting for this.. the idea has been in ideas since 2009 (and was started in 2012 and currently has a massive 1188 votes), this post was started in 2010 and we still do not have this much requested and promised feature.

You can currently collect whatever additional data about the whole order being made with the order comments field (which may be renamed to anything you like). So it is possible to ask for delivery data on checkout in your store right now.

Since 2009 our developer team has completed and released a vast number of features in Ecwid, those were comparably essential to online selling, so they are in no way drowsing, they are busy every day, night and weekend.

The idea you talk about includes not just a single date field, but the whole system of managing and showing many various types on additional fields on checkout, collecting the data from them and showing that data appropriately in Ecwid control panel or in the admin and customer notifications. Just from the description - this is huge. This can be done wrong in so many ways, which is not what you or we would ever want. So the best wake up call for the Ecwid team regarding this feature would be a clear description from you on how you expect this functionality to work for you: what type of fileds you would add, how the customers are to interact with those fields (starting with - are those fields required or optional?), how and where the data collected from those fields is displayed. Add this as a comment to that idea - this will let us know exactly what one of the anticipators of that functionality really expects. The more such information we have, the better and the sooner we complete the feature. Thank you.
