Hi everyone,

Customizing the CSS to fit with the design I have in mind for my site is beyond my abilities, so I think I'd like to use only the Single Product Widget, with the html pasted into a page I design for each product. Is it possible to run an ecwid store this way? I'll need to add 'view cart' and 'checkout' buttons somewhere - is there a simple code for that? Can the cart contents be displayed as an element in my existing site? What else would I need to do?

I'm pretty sure it can be done. I think I've seen a few sites that only use the single product widgets.

There are two very simple ways to achieve what you need.

- Use Single product HTML code. Every product will have it’s own separate shopping bag and your customer will be able to head the checkout page, in one click. Single product widget are automatically shows the shopping bag, when it has products in it. The shopping bag opens in popup layer. The whole Ecwid functionality is built into the single product code, it works like a whole separate web store.

- If you would like to create a separate page for the checkout page, you have to use whole Ecwid product browser on the separate page. Here you can read about the product browser installation: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/15853305/Product%20Browser
Now you have to create the link which will lead to the product browser page and place it on your storefront pages. Just add the ‘/#!/~/cart’ to your product browser page URL, for example: http://yourdomain.com/link_to_pb_page/#!/~/cart
Such link will lead straight to the checkout.

I'm trying to use the single product widget on my wordpress.org site, and it's not displaying quite right. The 'add to bag' button is beneath the bottom border, and the text field is partially cut off. Here's what it looks like in the 'HTML code' screen on ecwid:



And here's what it looks like once I copy the code into wordpress:



The text beneath it is stuff I added outside the widget code. I've tried using two different shortcode plugins, and it looks the same as when I paste the code directly, so it's not a matter of me messing that up. It's functional - the button works, and the text I enter in 'Notes' comes up in the shopping bag - but how can I make it look the way it's supposed to?

I'm using the basic ecwid theme, with no CSS changes.

I know I created a separate thread in the Wordpress section for that question, so I don't know why it merged them. I gave up on Weebly a while ago, hence the move to Wordpress. Anyway, the problem had to do with the theme I was using. I switched from Graphene to Catch Everest and it's fine now.

The reason is the wordpress theme.

Specific style of your current wordpress theme interferes the Ecwid elements, which affects the widget forms layout. The easiest way to solve this problem is to use the different Wordpress theme.

We recommend our clients to use the Wordpress themes which are compatible with Ecwid.

If you look for good WP themes, I suggest checking a catalog of commercial themes first: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/commercial/
