Checkout takes me to starter site - no way back to my domain?

At 'Checkout', when selecting 'Credit Card' as payment method and clicking 'Continue' I am taken to my starter site 'robinsonwirecloth.ecwid.com', as opposed to remaining within my domain:

http://www.robinsonwirecloth.co.uk/store.html

Am guessing this is required for secure payment. Nevertheless, problem is if I, or real customer, wants to go back to website (my domain) to check on something before completing purchase, there is no way to do so, i.e. no link to, e.g. http://www.robinsonwirecloth.co.uk.

There is only an icon at the top that links to the starter site, which is no good.

Please advise and thanks in advance, Richard

Hi Richard,

You are right. You are using Stripe as a 'Credit Card' payment method. It requires that the website where the payment is made runs on https. Your website runs on http. For such cases we have made a workaround – redirect customers to the Starter site so that they could complete the payment.

Customers can get back to the website if they use 'Back' button in the browser. If you want customers to stay on your website when they select Stripe, install the SSL certificate. When the website runs on https, the payments can be made on your website, without the redirect to the Starter site.

I should also note that when the payment is made, customers are automatically taken back to your website.

If you have any other questions, feel free to write back. We are always glad to help.

Thanks for the reply - much appreciated.

As the icon at the top of the page has a link, it'd be great if I could alter the URL to one of my choice, i.e. to take customer back to store on my domain.

In fact, and/or could you not add option for a link on the starter page?

Cheers,
Richard

Richard,

The logo on the Starter site is set to direct customers to the store home page, i.e. the home page of the Starter site. There are no plans to change this behavior. Many merchants use the Starter site as their main or the only one store front.

You can get rid of the redirect to the Starter site if you buy the SSL certificate for your website. When it runs on https, customers will be able to make the payment without leaving your website.

Thanks. I get the https thing. Just thought a simple option in settings to redirect starter site logo URL if needed (i.e. not using starter site) would be useful!

Thanks again for your time,
Richard
