Need to set up one item that has a variable price that the client can enter when ordering. Very similar to a donation item.

This is for a "retainer fee". It might be $25.00 or as much as $10,000. I have FREE plan.

You can set this up two different ways in Ecwid:

1. Get an Offer on Catalog Products App
   
   We have got a great application, that does exactly what you need. Customers can put in their offer for your services with the help of this app. Please, check it out: https://www.ecwid.com/apps/featured/...cart-offer-app
   
2. Workaround with Product Option (Text area/field)
   
   You can create a Product Option (Input type: text area/field) and name it "Your offer" or something similar. Customers will checkout with zero price technically, but they have already put in their offer, and you can invoice them.
