Thumbs up Share a Refund = Autocorrect for shipping invoices

Hi everyone. Nick here from Share a Refund, the Ecwid app designed to save store owners on shipping. This thread is dedicated to answering the common questions related to the app, how it works, etc.

How it works.

UPS, DHL and FedEx give customers a full-refund on shipping costs when a shipment is delivered late, unshipped or misbilled. The catch is that these refunds are not automatic. Each shipment must be audited and a claim filed when a refund is due. A process that is both complicated and time-intensive. Share a Refund is here to help. Share a Refund gets all of the refund credits available within FedEx, DHL and UPS accounts. A comprehensive, 40-point audit is performed on each shipment, and actions are immediately taken to secure 100% of the refund credits available.

How to install.

Take a look at the app listing within the Ecwid Marketplace: Click the Get app button to install it. There's a quick three step setup.

Overview of the process.

When Ecwid storeowners install the Ecwid app, there's a quick sign up that is used to collect the information necessary to create a user's account at Share a Refund. This includes the username and password for the login to FedEx, DHL or UPS. Three things are done with the logins to your shipping accounts. 1. Recent invoices are downloaded automatically and analyzed by our shipment auditing engine. 2. Claims and disputes are filed with the carriers when billing mistakes are found. 3. Claims and disputes are tracked as they are refunded back to your shipping accounts. Share a Refund does all the work under the hood, to make the process as easy as signing up and watching the savings roll in each week.

The reports and notifications.

Each Monday, an email is sent to the email address specified in the notifications contact(s) detailing all shipping, auditing and refunding activities that occurred on an account within the last week. In the case any refunds were secured, a second email is sent with an invoice attached. Each line item on this invoice is the tracking number where a refund was secured. Details on any line item are available within the Ecwid app, on the shipment details page for any given tracking number, including the specific actions taken by Share a Refund to secure that refund.

Who collects the refunds.

All refunds are delivered as credits on your shipping invoices. These credits are automatically applied to those invoices by your carriers. Each line item details the tracking number where a refund was secured. Detailed information on each credit is available on the carrier website, as well as within the Share a Refund Ecwid App.

How do we get paid.

A split of the refunds secured by Share a Refund on your shipping accounts is the way we keep our servers up and running. There's no upfront costs and no ongoing fees here. This is a performance based service, dedicated to saving you money on shipping. It's all upside.

How does payment work.

Credit card or debit card is the preferred method of payment. AutoPay makes it easy to pay invoices.

What if I already audit my own shipping invoices.

Great! This is good practice. We're here to ensure than you maximize the refund potential in your shipping accounts. If there's a claim or dispute filed on a package, then we won't file another refund on that package, and won't invoice for a split of the savings. When Share a Refund sees that there wasn't an action taken where a refund is expected, the system will take action and report of the specifics. In that way, Share a Refund doesn't affect any internal, existing processes. Typically, what customers find here is that Share a Refund is faster and more efficient at secured refunds compared to doing the auditing and claim filing manually, and let Share a Refund do all the work.

Why Share a Refund.

This is all we do. Years of development went into our systems, and everything was built with an intent of saving our customers money. Our competitors charge for refunds that they didn't take actions on... what a joke! We're only splitting the refunds that we secure and save our customers more money on shipping by finding more refunds.

Who is Share a Refund.

We're a team of devs who've been developing apps for several years. Share a Refund is one that we are especially proud of, as we won the largest cash prize ever awarded to an app in October of 2016 at QBConnect. $100k USD. Sponsored by Intuit. We're happy to see our app saving Ecwid store owners money each week on shipping.

Support and more.

The app details page on our website includes more information on the integration, and more in-depth support topics. Feel free to drop us a line there on any information that's not included within.
