Wholesale Pricing Progress and Options

Hello,

I have read numerous threads but most have seemed to drop off.

My client needs Wholesale Pricing (not to be confused with Bulk Discount Pricing) so that Wholesalers can log in to their account and receive a cheaper price than the public can see.

The way our internal system works is through Cost + % pricing. As in the cost of the item is $10.00 and each wholesale customer group or level could be set at a percentage like 10% over cost, or 15% over cost. <--- Will a feature like this ever be developed for Ecwid?

Another option of handling this situation is offering a pricing box in each product that is labeled with your customer group names. This way you can set a specific price per group label inside each product. All we would have to do is assign a specific customer to a group and they could log in to their account and see their unique price. Volusion is set up in there manner and this was there work around since they also could not do cost + % pricing.

I can see integrating a cost area being more difficult or less simple for the average user of Ecwid so I think maybe the latter would be the best solution.

The problem with current wholesale pricing set up is that you can offer a discount off of retail or sale price. For wholesale purposes is that the margin is not there for some small products. To offer simply 10% for group 1 and 20% for group 2 could actually sell the item below cost.

Will any of these features be implemented or offered in the future?

Hello Cody!

It is possible to set up separate prices for wholesale customers these ways:

- If you would like separate pricing to be available only to your wholesale clients you can duplicate the products with wholesale pricing, place them into hidden categories and send out e-mails with a link to these categories to your wholesalers manually. But note that all settings for this categories will be the same like in whole store.

- Or just create a separate password-protected page on your site with embedded Ecwid store with the wholesale prices and settings.

Unfortunately there is no build-in functionality in Ecwid that allows wholesalers log in to their account and receive a cheaper prices.

Is this Wholesale function now available with ECWID packages in 2015?

Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to reply!

Well, sure, there's a feature that might be just the one you need, and of course there's always a number of workarounds:

There's an option to set bulk discounts in your store: it allows you to set number of tiered discounts for each individual product in your store, based on the number of these products purchased at a time (for example, 10% discount for 10-19 products, 20% discount for 20-49, 30% discount for 50-99, etc.). Here's an article describing this feature: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...scount-pricing

The workaround displayed above is an option too.

Also, you could add your wholesale customers to special customer group and assign a discount exclusive for this group: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...ustomer-groups

You could as well use discount coupons to offer discounts for large orders only: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1170284

Last, but not least, a bit of custom programming is always an option, that leaves a lot of space for creativity and customisation. Here's documentation on our API, if this approach suits you: http://developers.ecwid.com/api-documentation

Hope this helps!
