Import CSV validation tool

Hello,

I am writing a simple CSV validator script for a client using Ecwid. Currently, it only validates the image urls. What I would like to know is if there is any documentation on what fields will cause an import to fail in the Ecwid dashboard, so that we can weed those out before the client spends an hour waiting for an import to process only to have it fail.

If I can get a grasp of what the importer is looking for for each field, that would be awesome!

Thank you,
Scott

Thank you for the suggestion, Scott. We will create such a doc and publish it in our knowledge base. It will indeed be very useful for all Ecwid merchants.

Sounds great!

Please let me know when you have it up, and where I can find it.

Thanks!
Scott

Scott,

Please check this: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/26373353/...idimportformat

Should we add something there?

That looks good Eugene, Can I make a suggestion?
My most common problem is matching the seperator (commas, semicolon) and I get the error message about the column count being wrong. Perhaps in the KB (and the actual error message) could advise the use to check the seperator type?

Sure, thank you for the suggestion. I think we should improve the error message, which appears in such cases.
