What Wordpress SEO plugins are compatible with Ecwid?

Hi Matt,

Which WP SEO Plugin is the most compatible with Ecwid? I installed Yoast on my site, but it completely messed up my products' SEO.

Thanks,

Gal

Hi Gal,

Yoast and All in One should work fine with Ecwid plugin for Wordpress – we made special adjustments to make Ecwid product pages work good with those plugins. Also, XML sitemaps generated by those two should automatically include store products pages URLs.

Can you explain what happened in your case? What troubles did you find?

Thanks,

Hi Matt,

The problem is that Google suddenly stopped indexing our product pages. Let's look at this product we're currently selling for example:

This is its title:פסטיבל סאנביט, כרטיסים לילדים מגיל 5-16 - Sunbeat Festival 2015

If I copy and paste this title into google, it doesn't find anything.

Keep this in mind...

Previously, SEO worked perfectly with our Ecwid product pages. In fact, this month, we were able generate more than $2000 from sales that came from organic search of one event that we sold tickets to. We started to pay close attention to SEO since, and unfortunately in the past week of so we noticed that our products are no longer indexed.

My guess is that there's a problem with the Google AJAX indexing for our Ecwid store.

Your thoughts? Any advice will be highly appreciated, since SEO is apparently a massive sales driver for us.

Gal,

Thanks for the update. Do you have any suggestion on what was the reason of the problem? Is that anything in our plugin we should look into?

I could be wrong, but I think it had something to do with the WP plugins that generate the XML sitemap.

Here's why:

1. We've had Google XML Sitemaps plugin for WP for quite some time.
2. I decided to change our WP theme and installed Yoast SEO plugin as well.
3. After I installed it, WP alerted me that there's some conflict between Google XML Sitemaps plugin and
Yoast plugin, since both of them generate an XML sitemap.
4. I disabled Google XML Sitemaps and let Yoast handle the XML sitemap.
5. That's when we noticed our Ecwid product title SEO dropped entirely.
6. I ended up disabling Yoast and enabling Google XML Sitemaps.
7. A few days later, everything went back to normal.

Thanks for the details.

That could actually be somehow related to the WP theme you're using. Which theme do you use on your site at the moment?
