UPS Calculations

Hello,

I have an odd thing happening with the UPS Ground rates that I'm getting in my store. When I go directly to the UPS web site and perform a test using the same weight and same addresses as I'm using in my store I'm getting different rates.

For example, the rates returned to my store for a particular item that weighs 5.0 lbs is $10.84. The rate that I get when I perform a test directly on the UPS website is $12.00. I'm testing using the same ship to and ship from addresses for both tests.

I'm seeing some strange things happening with my rates. I have performed multiple tests on this. I'm also seeing two different rates being returned for two different products weighing the same.

I'm seeing the weird rate difference on these two products that weigh the same:

AND

Any idea what is happening?

My store is: http://www.soulfulequine.com/store-catalog

Thanks.

The UPS rates may depend on many reasons. Please create a new ticket in our bugtracker and provide us with the following information:
- origin and destination addresses
- links to products

We will investigate the issue.

The bug report says it is fixed, but I get the same problem, even now (01/10/10).

Two items, with same weight, produce different shipping costs. And, neither of those costs match what is quoted straight off the UPS site, for that given weight, with same starting/ending address.

1. If products have different prices, they will produce different shipping costs, because the cost of the package affects the shipping rates.

2. The shipping rates depend on many settings, that you can tweak on UPS site.
Ecwid doesn't calculate the real-time shipping rates. It just sends the information about the package to carrier's server and shows the returned results.

3. In order to investigate this issue, please provide us with the following information:

- the original and destination addresses
- the links to the products you try to purchase
- rates you get in Ecwid
- rates you get on UPS site

Thanks in advance.
