bug on shopping cart one out of 3 or 4 times customers try to add items. Shopping cart remains empty. This causes indubitably loss of sales.

we experience a couple problems with our shopping cart (panier in French). From time to time, items added to the cart do not load and the cart stays empty.

Also from time to time when going to the last step for payment we encounter this error message (see attachment):

Some required information is missing or incorrect. Please correct the fields below and try again.

Error: Invalid Merchant or Merchant doesn't exist!

Needless to say that it is a deterrent for customers when it comes to pay.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

I was able to see the issue with different cart contents and in order to reproduce it you will need to do the following:
- go to: http://lafleurpolo.com/lepolo.php
- add a product to cart
- click on minicart widget
- you will be on this page:
http://www.lafleurpolo.com/boutique.php#!/~/cart

And the cart contents will be different.

Note the difference in the URLs:
1. http://lafleurpolo.com/lepolo.php - without www
2. http://www.lafleurpolo.com/boutique.php#!/~/cart with www

Ecwid works this way:
When you add a product to cart, it is added to a local storage of the browser which is domain specific. Which means that you will get different cart contents for different domains.

These two domains seem similar:
- lafleurpolo.com
- www.lafleurpolo.com

However actually from the browser's perspective these are two completely different websites.

In your store pages you have a product browser URL code, which always redirects to the www.* website: http://take.ms/nlwzg So that's why you see different cart contents when you shop in your Ecwid store.

In order to fix this I can suggest you two solutions:
1. Try to use relative URL to your website pages for the product browser URL. Now the code looks like this:
Code:
  <script>
    var ecwid_ProductBrowserURL = "http://www.lafleurpolo.com/boutique.php";
</script>
And I suggest that you use this one instead:
Code:
  <script>
    var ecwid_ProductBrowserURL = "/boutique.php";
</script>
2. The second way is to adjust your domain redirect so it works like this:
- if user visits the lafleurpolo.com it will redirect to www.lafleurpolo.com
- if user visits the www.lafleurpolo.com it will do nothing

This way there will be only one domain and thus this issue will be gone.
You can find instructions on how to do that here:

Regarding this error:
Quote:
Error: Invalid Merchant or Merchant doesn't exist!
I tested your checkout process and placed a test order in your store with a test credit card - it was processed correctly and returned the declined error, because of the test credit card and there was no such error that you referred to.

In case if you encounter this issue again, please let me know the following details:
- date and time it happened
- what products you added to cart

Also please check your Paypal credentials for the Paypal Payflow payment method in your Ecwid store, they must be the same as the 'PayPal Manager' login details.
To find out more about the Paypal payment methods in your store, please see this page: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/en/po...1161285-paypal
Thank you.
