Can ECWID be used as a simple searchable product database?

Hello,

I have a client with a number of bathroom products who wishes to showcase them by brand, type, colour etc. on their website.

They are using the following site as a reference:

http://www.hastingstilebath.com/

When someone does a search for a product, the search returns images of the product in question. Could ECWID's search box function work in the same manner?

(I see from your showcase that one of the following sites seems to operate in a somewhat similar fashion: http://www.naturalbodyinc.com/).

They do not want an e-commerce website at the moment. Could the shopping bag, pricing and checkout features be disabled?

Thank you for any assistance.

1. Yes, it is possible to disable shopping bag, pricing and checkout features: http://kb.ecwid.com/How-to-turn-Ecwi...roduct-catalog

2. At the moment Ecwid doesn't have a built-in "search by type and brand" feature. If you want to have it, please vote for this idea: http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-...ties?ref=title

Meanwhile you can use this workaround: http://kb.ecwid.com/Hidden-products-...gories#Filters

The article you direct 'heathwdesign' is very vague to say the least where do you paste? and does it require you to delete any CSS to disable it. Please can you help as I have just signed up and would love use this product. The instruction give but where install it?

Kind Regards
Disable all payment and shipping methods.
Make sure you don't have the mini cart widget installed. If you do, you need to remove it.
Hide the "Add to Cart" buttons and the "Qty" fields using this CSS code:

td.ecwid-productBrowser-productsTable-buy,
div.ecwid-AddToBagButton,
div.ecwid-productBrowser-details-qtyPanel {
display:none;
}

Then hide the "Sign in" link: How to remove "Sign In" link

All the suggested CSS rules are to be added to the end of your currently active CSS theme at Ecwid control panel → System Settings → Design → CSS Themes. Nothing has to be deleted to hide elements - the customization with CSS works by adding more rules, not by deleting something previously existed.
