Ok, what if I just want to create a popup to a URL via a text link? I have a couple of long product reviews and I don't want to put all that text on the product page, so a lightbox popup would be perfect for this.. Do you know what the code should be for such a popup?

First you should select the JavaScript library you want to use to create such popups.

Truthfully, it doesn't matter to me. I'd like one that will handle any type of popup (URL, youtube or local FLV video, image, etc..) The one you linked me to seems to do everything. I certainly prefer the easiest one to use

I suggest trying this library first: http://orangoo.com/labs/GreyBox/
You should use the "GB_show" function as shown in the first example there: http://orangoo.com/labs/greybox/advance_usage.html

It definitely looks easier to use. Do you know if it supports youtube, vimeo, scribd, other sorts of flash embeds? Would I just include the javascript code under the installation tab within my product description wherever I want to use it?

Yes, I think.

I did not have any luck with Greybox, tried to make a simple text link to open a website. Eugene, have you tested Greybox to make sure it works?

One thing I noticed is that this code:

Code:

changed to this after I put it in the product description HTML and saved it:

Code:

What is that // <![CDATA junk?? Have I mentioned how much I hate code??

hahaha yes of course it works on their demo page. I meant does it work in ecwid? It did not work for me. I thought it might be a path issue. If I have /greybox in the root do I need it in the greybox/AJS.js thing too? I tried it both ways, but no luck.

Yes, it works with Ecwid. I've tested it with my store.

1. The following method of integration should be used: http://orangoo.com/labs/greybox/advance_usage.html
2. Can you post a link to the page, where you added the greybox code?
