Set a default setting for the search widget

Hi
Our website relies heavily on customers being able to search for specific spare parts. We recommend customers use double quotes when using product search otherwise the results are not very specific.
However we think that customers don’t understand this or they just can’t be bothered, is there a way to make the search widget insert these double quotes by default?, this would help enormously for our customers to find exactly what they need with the minimum of effort.

Thanks
Julian

Hello Julian,

In the storefront, Ecwid searches products by individual words in search phrase. When you want to search for an exact phrase, you should enclose the entire phrase in quotation marks. This tells Ecwid to search for the precise terms in the prescribed order. Please, refer to this article for details: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...works-in-ecwid

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change Ecwid product search behaviour anyhow.
