I have also tried:

padding-top: 20px; /*change this value to reduce gap size */
}

I would very much appreciate you looking at my site to see how I can remove the excess white space.

Thank you very much for your advice.

Hello Paul,

Could you point me to the exact place on your store page where your want to reduce white space? Is it below the Ecwid categories menu or above it? Any screenshot would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi Makfruit,

Thank you for your reply.

The white space is above my main navigation:

Clothing Bags Shoes Accessories Vintage Lifestyle

Thank you for your advice to remove the white space.

The Ecwid categories widget doesn't add any significant indentation above itself. The HTML elements that the navigation is placed in add white spaces on your site though. I've inspected the structure of your store page and found out that those element are: div with CSS class 'entry-content', article with class 'hentry' and div with id 'main'. Thus, in order to remove white space you'll need to edit styles ('margin' and 'padding' properties) of those elements in your Wordpress theme styles.css file. You also can adjust them in your Ecwid custom CSS theme. The corresponding code will look like this:
Code:
html#ecwid_html body#ecwid_body .entry-content,
html#ecwid_html body#ecwid_body .entry-summary,
html#ecwid_html body#ecwid_body .hentry,
html#ecwid_html body#ecwid_body div#main {
  padding-top: 0 !important;
  margin-top: 0 !important;
}

Hi Matvey and ecwid support team,
Hope your fine.

I changed my wordpress theme and have noticed that the above white space has appeared again!

Please can you look at my store as the code you originally gave me that worked dosent seem to be working with my new theme. Or it may not have anything to do with my new theme, im not sure.

Your help and advice is always very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

The white space above the store page content on your site has nothing to do with Ecwid, actually - it was added by the WP theme styles (from the 'styles.css' file) and the extra empty HTML elements in the page content. So, in order to get rid of it, you will need to modify the CSS file of your WP theme and the content of your store page.

Here is the things that add white spaces to the header:
1. styles.css, line 586:
Code:
.content_holder {
	opacity: 0;
	padding-top: 125px;
}
The padding-top property defines how many pixels the content moves down from the top of the page. You can slightly decrease that number so the content will appear closer to the top.

2. styles.css, line 1200
Code:
.post_teaser .teaser_content,
.single_post .post_content,
.single_page .page_content,
.single_portfolio .portfolio_content,
.portfolio_thumbs_holder .gallery_content {
	position: relative;
	padding: 25px 30px 5px 30px;
}
This CSS code applies to many page elements, in particular it sets the 25px top indent for the page content element. You can modify it so the top indentation will be smaller.

3. styles.css, line 273
Code:
p {
	margin-bottom: 15px;
}
This code doesn't affect the page content element, but it sets margin property for every <p> element on the page. The thing is there is an empty <p> element in the page content and the 15px-margin property is inherited by that element as well. As a result there is an empty space with no content. In order to fix it, you will need to inspect your store page source code in your WP admin panel and remove empty <p> elements.

Hope it helps.

By the way, you can find out the reasons of such issues yourself with the help of browser developer tools. Please refer to this article for the details:

If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
