Product order without category

Having finally figured out how to remove the category from showing up on my site by removing the category from my products, now the products are out or order!

I've tried putting the sku's in order, ordering them in the product list and nothing works. How do I fix this without assigning them to a category. Very frustrating.

Specifically I want the Lame Tax to show up last in the list:

Figured it out by altering the default sort setting:

Hmm, if you set the default sort order in the General > Store profile > Catalog Settings, it should apply it to orders which are not assigned to any category too. I've just checked it on my demo Ecwid store -- works fine.

Did you see a different behaviour?

The Category settings don't seem to work, especially when used with the facebook inclusion - check out my facebook Box Office and then click refresh page, each time it's refreshed the product order changes!

FYI Qetzal - in the link you mentioned it says:

Quote:
If option "Defined by store owner" is selected, your customers will see products in the same order as specified on the "Catalog → Categories" page.
So where does one find this so-called check box "Defined by store owner"? A link contained in said instruction would be helpful.

This is a Facebook tab, which always shows some random products from your store. Products in this tab cannot be sorted.
The sorting options affect the products in the store which is displayed in the main canvas, i.e. when you click the "Open my store" button.

It isn't a checkbox, it is value of the "Default Products Sort Order" option on the General > Store profile > Catalog Settings page in Ecwid backend.

I'm struggling with this too. Although I can change the option to 'defined by store owner' easily, how do I actually define the order itself?

If you use the "Defined by store owner" option, you should do as follows:
- go to the Catalog > Categories
- click the necessary category, open the Category products tab
- drag-n-drop products to sort them
- save the changes

Like, the OP, my products are not in a category.
Perhaps this is why they cannot be sorted?
