New Shipping Method Doesn't Appear in Account

Hello. I thought I knew what I was doing, but perhaps not. I created a flat-rate shipping method - no problem. Then, I created a New Shipping Method, and named it 'Free Local Delivery' and assigned it rate of zero dollars. When I clicked 'Save' it did not appear. So, I did it again. Same thing.

However, when I look at the live site, I see three options available: Flat Rate, Free Local Delivery, and Free Local Delivery. I want to delete the last two (because I created a destination zone to cover those), but can't see them in my account. Help?

I have checked your store settings and here is what I have found out:

- you have three shipping methods created: two identical "Free Local Delivery" methods (with zero shipping cost) that are for "Wausau" zone (which includes several zip codes zones for Wisconsin) and one "Flat Rate Shipping" method for "The World" zone that provides USD 6 shipping cost.

"The World" zone includes all the countries, states and areas of the world. In your particular case you should remember that it includes Wisconsin.

What it means:

- If I place an order as a customer from Russia in your store, there will be one shipping method offered to me - "Flat Rate Shipping", because "The World" is the only zone that my shipping address matches:

- If I place an order as a customer from Wisconsin with, for example, 54401 zip code, there will be all the three shipping methods offered to me - "Flat Rate Shipping", because my shipping address matches both "The World" zone and "Wausau" zone:

So, my suggestions are:
- first of all, delete one of the "Free Local Delivery" shipping methods, since they are absolutely identical.
- If you would like shipping to cost USD 6 per order for all the countries and states, except Wisconsin, you should actually make two shipping methods and two zones for that:
1. A zone that includes all the countries but the USA, and the shipping method that costs USD 6 for this zone
2. A zone for the USA that includes all the US states except Wisconsin, and the shipping method that also costs USD 6 for this zone

Hi Kess. Thank you for your reply. That helps a lot. I see one other condition I need to handle. You said to create one zone for outside the US, so I create a zone that includes all countries except US. Then I created a second zone that includes just the US, and includes all states except Wisconsin. I see that I need to create a third zone for just the state of Wisconsin but which excludes the zip codes that are included in my free local delivery zone.

I know that all the zip codes in Wisconsin are 53*** and 54***, so what I did was to add these zip codes (53***, 540**, 541**, 542**, 543**, 545**, 546**, 547**, 548**, 549**, 54400, 54402, 54404, 54405, 54406, 54407, 54408, 54409, 54450, 54451, 54452, 54453, 54454, 54475, 54457, 54458, 54459, 54470, 54471, 54472, 54473, 54475, 54477, 54478, 54479) to this third zone. The results look promising so far. Thank you again!

I was about to ask why not just use Wisconsin in the list of states for the "Wausau" zone and delete the zip codes from the zone settings, but now I understand that not all the areas i Wisconsin are the subject for free delivery in your store. If so - your store is configured absolutely correctly now (I'm sure you've defined the proper zip codes, but in case you doubt, you'd better check it with your postal service).

And thank you for your kind feedback!
