Can't create order from backend?

Please tell me I'm wrong but I see no facility to create an order from the backend for customers who call or snail mail their orders.

If there's no way to do it from the backend, can I do it "as the customer" from the front end? Also, from time to time, without the use of a coupon, etc, I might want to simply adjust the price of a product (or shipping) for a customer. Do I have this ability?

1. Yes, it isn't possible at the moment to create an order from the backend. Please vote for this idea:

2. Yes, you can place an order from the front end, but in this case you will need to know customer's password. If you don't know the password, it is possible to use the "Guest checkout" option. Customer will get a notification about an order, but it will not appear in the order history.

3. The only way to do it, is to manually change the product price, make an order and return the price back.

Hmm, I did not see any info about guest checkout anywhere, can you direct me to that? Perhaps that can be a workaround, not sure..

If you have the "Require customers to create accounts on checkout" option disabled (it's disabled by default), then you can check out without entering a password and creating an account. This feature is called "Guest checkout".

Hey Eric, Not sure if this helps you, but I've dealt with not being able to create an order in the backend by simply submitting it from the front end as if I were the customer. e.g., a customer calls in, I take the order info and the plug it in the same way he would if he were on the website. You can generate coupon codes to make adjustments to the final total if you had quoted him some different prices, etc.. It's been ok as a work-around for me.
