Are input field ids static?

Hi,

I am investigating the possibility of populating the shipping address fields in the minicart using JavaScript and a php backend that has access to my customer's details.

I was hoping to use the shopping page loaded event to determine when the shipping details page is displayed but I don't know if the page element ids such as gwt-uid-28 are consistent across page loadings. In other words, is an element's id the same each time the shipping address form is displayed or might they change from one iteration of the page to the next or from one customer to the next?

If the element ids are not constant, is there a recommended method of finding the appropriate input tags to complete?

Thanks,
Doug

Hi,

It’s Daria from Ecwid Customer Care team.

IDs of HTML elements in Ecwid are not static. We can’t guarantee that they always remain the same, they might change in the future. So, if you need to address an element, you should better use elements’ HTML classes. We guarantee that class names of most elements in the storefront won’t change.

Hope this helps!
