Hi Timothy,
thanks for your message. As far as I understand, your aim is to build an online shopping aggregator site which will include storefronts of different shops that will be managed separately by the store owners.
As WoodYouLike suggested, technically it's possible to embed a number of separate Ecwid store to one website. Each store should have a separate page and will run a separate shopping cart, so it won't be possible to order one thing from Store A and the other - from store B. Therefore, combined orders from different stores won't be possible.
Ecwid plugin for WordPress indeed allows to connect with a single Ecwid store only. For having separate stores on different pages of your site, you need to embed Ecwid manually: not via the plugin, but by pasting the integration code to the page content. Ecwid integration codes are available in your Control Panel > Dashboard > Installation Wizard: select 'other platform' at the step Add Ecwid to your site and you will see Ecwid embed codes - Product Browser, Cart, Search box and Categories.
Grab the code and paste it to the page content area. In WordPress you can place Ecwid script to the
editor area. Pay your attention that, WordPress may be corrupting the scripts added to the editor area, preventing them from proper functioning. So in your case a custom-built site, allowing to add custom script to the page content, may be a better solution.
