No shopping bag or means to checkout when accessing store by an iPhone or other handheld


We have enabled the "Buy Now" button under everything in the store and shopping and checkout from a PC works fine.

However, from an iPhone or other handheld selecting "Buy Now" simply tells the user that an itme is "in the bag." PROBLEM: After that a shopper does not see the bag and there is no means to check out.

Is there a simple solution we can apply ONCE to make certain all "Buy Now" buttons work as expected from a non-PC device? This is not good.

I see that you use Shopping cart widget in normal view in your store. The shopping cart icon in normal view has been intentionally hidden from the stores viewed on small screens, because it overlaps the items and buttons. This is why the shopping bag shows up OK when you open your store on PC and you can’t find the icon on mobile.

However, your customers can access the shopping bag using a mobile device if they add a product to shopping bag by clicking the “Buy now” button and after that clicking on the selected product once again. Check out the screenshot of your store below.


As you can see, there is a "Go to checkout” button, so your customers can place the order.

If you would like to make it easier for customers to access the shopping bag, you can use one of the following solutions:

1. You can enable the “Open bag if “Add to Bag” is clicked” option in your Ecwid Control Panel, System Settings > General > Cart as it is shown in the screenshot below:


In this case, your customers will be taken straight to the shopping bag after they tap the “Buy now” button.

2. You also can add a minicart widget in miniview to the page with the product widget. This widget is not hidden for small mobile screens and your customers will proceed to checkout easily.

Copy the widget code from the article and update it with the ID of your store. Publish the code instead of the current shopping bag widget on your store page.
