Store Page alignment

Hi - when we click on the category link in the store, the page opens to the bottom of the store and not at the top - how can we fix this? WordPress using plugin.

Hello Josephine,

thank you for getting in touch with us.

Normally, when you switch between the store pages, Ecwid scrolls the page either to the top of the Product Browser widget or to the top of the whole page. It depends on the distance from the top of the page to the top of the Product Browser widget.

For instance, if the page header before the Product Browser widget is less then 150 px, then Ecwid scrolls to the top of the page. If the page header is more than 150px threshold, Ecwid scrolls the page to the top of the Product Browser widget.

This helps to focus the customers' attention on the store content, especially if they are browsing from mobile devices. Sometimes mobile sites have big spaces between the top of the page and the main content area due to the responsive layout that fits into narrow screens. In such cases it would be necessary to scroll down the page to actually see the store. To avoid this, Ecwid scrolls the page to the main content area.

There's a way to force the scroll position to the top of the page by adding a special tag to the website header:

Code:
<div id="ecwid_product_browser_scroller"></div>
If you add this tag right after the open <body> tag, Ecwid will always scroll to the top of the page on transition between store pages.

On WordPress you can reach the open <body> tag in the header.php file of your website theme. In your WordPress dashboard:

- go to Appearance > Editor page
- select the current theme for edition and find Header file (header.php) in the list (screenshot: http://take.ms/Inh2y)
- find the open <body> tag in the template and paste Ecwid product browser scroller code right after it
- update the file to save the changes

If you have trouble locating the open <body> tag, look for the closing </head> tag. The <body> always goes right after it.

Hi,
Your trick with 150px in hedader doesn't work with Wix. Even with 40px it goes to the top of the ecwid and not to top of the whole page in Wix. Please help. It's for me very important

Hi Martin,

Thank you for contacting us.

As I understand, you added your Ecwid store to Wix website. Unfortunately, the approach with adding the tag to force scroll position can't be applied to a Wix site, as it doesn't give access to the website source code.

If the website header doesn't let your customers view the store, you may try another theme or try to make your header smaller. You can also post here the link to your website and we'll see what you mean and what can be done there.

Hope to hear from you. Thanks!
