Customize checkout process

Hello,

We would like to customize the checkout process by adding an additional step. We need our customers to fill out a customer agreement form and then be able to return back to the next step in the checkout process.

Here is the flow:
1. Select product and hit checkout.
2. Fill out Customer Agreement Form
3. Fill out payment information
4. Finalize order

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hello, Kimo!

As you know Ecwid is quite a simple storebuilder that lets your customers make purchases in your store in a few steps. But unfortunately, it is not possible to add one more step in the checkout process in Ecwid with filling customer agreement form.

However, you can ask your customers to agree with your store’s terms and conditions before they can proceed to the checkout process.

If this feature is enabled the customer will need to check a box agreeing to the terms and conditions of your store before purchasing anything from you.
You can enable it here: Ecwid control panel > System Settings > General > Legal info. Make “Terms and Conditions” checkbox enabled.

You should paste your agreement text in legal info box and save.

Hi Sergey,

Thanks for the reply. Is there any way to add a form on the payment details page?

Hi, Kimo.

Unfortunately it is not possible to add such form on the payment details page.

In fact Ecwid must meet all the requirements of different countries and their laws, and it must have such an option as “Terms and Conditions” checkbox . So we have no need to include such a specific feature as form filling agreement option in Ecwid.

However, if you think, this functionality should be added to Ecwid, you can suggest this idea in our ideas base and it will be implemented as soon as it gets enough votes.

You can enable display of the pages in your Ecwid control panel at System Settings>General>Legal Info tab. The pages links will be automatically attached and shown in your simple store and Facebook shop, at the bottom of each store page.

Other Ecwid store installation will display these pages content inside “Terms & Conditions” block.

Please, refer to this aritcle for details how Legal pages functionality works: http://help.ecwid.com/customer/porta...ore-#whatpages

I guess what I am asking is if there is a way that HTML can be pasted in this area instead of just plain text?

Thanks!

Default Legal Windows

Nevermind about the HTML. Just figured that out. Can I do the following.

1. Resize the Legal Terms window.
2. Change the wording for "I agree with Terms and Conditions" to "Please fill out the user agreement".
3. Change the wording in the "Terms and Conditions" window.
4. Have the "Accept" and "Decline" appear after they have scrolled to the bottom.

Thanks!

Hi, Kimo!

1. I’m afraid it is not possible yet to resize the Legal Terms window.

2. Yes. You can use custom translation tool to translate "I agree with Terms and Conditions" to "Please fill out the user agreement". Just add following code to the source of the page, where Ecwid store is installed:

Code:
<script>
ecwidMessages = {
"ShoppingCartView.agree":"Please fill out the {user agreement}"
}
</script>
3. You can change "Terms and Conditions" name in your Ecwid control panel at System Settings>General>Legal Info tab.

These screenshots will help you:

Don’t forget to save these changes.

4. It is possible to make the "Accept" and "Decline" buttons appear after customers have scrolled to the bottom with some custom script. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in Ecwid by default
