Store on Facebook tab does not show in Chrome

I have just installed my store as an app on Facebook. The link is here:

https://www.facebook.com/uticacoffee...00664320091384

When I visit the app in Safari or Internet Explorer the store will load (though Internet Explorer requires me first to accept nonsecure content). The store does not load at all in Chrome, I only get the blank web page with none of the Ecwid widgets displayed. Chrome is set up to allow Javascript.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks in advance!

An added note, the store works just fine in Firefox, too.

Okay, I used the Javascript Console in Chrome and encountered this:

[blocked] The page at https://spinlandforms.com/utica-coffee-ecwid-fb/ ran insecure content from http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?1133018.
Uncaught ReferenceError: xMinicart is not defined spinlandforms.com:18
Uncaught ReferenceError: xCategories is not defined spinlandforms.com:19
Uncaught ReferenceError: xProductBrowser is not defined spinlandforms.com:20

So it appears that Chrome security does not like the provided Ecwid script. I think the problem is linked to the fact that Facebook tabs require SSL to be enabled on the hosting server and the Ecwid script doesn't meet the certification standards when it's being called from my secure server?

Is this the problem? Can it be fixed? Right now no Chrome-using customers can see the shopping cart at all.

I think I just fixed it!

In this line:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?1133018"></script>

I just changed http to https and it started working!

Where does that line go? Not sure where it's supposed to be placed?

It's the main line of the embed code for the page you're putting the shopping cart in. Look there.

I used the plugin, because I'm running a Joomla site. The embed didn't work with it.

Hi,

First, please let me explain the issue discussed in this thread.

The described problem with not displaying FB tab was caused by the fact that the store was opened via secure HTTPS connection while the URLs in custom HTML code referred to HTTP addresses. The browser refused to connect such URLs and thus the store widgets weren't loaded. The issue is not connected with Ecwid itself - the way Ecwid transfers all the data is totally secure. Rather, it is caused by the way how it is integrated (by custom Facebook HTML tab content). The issue can be fixed by changing all http URLs to the corresponding https ones in custom HTML code (as it was done by the topic starter).

By the way, in most cases, if you need custom FB tab content, it is possible to change the layout of your store page in Facebook by means of CSS - it is not necessary to use custom HTML content for it. Please refer to this article for the details:

In your case, if I get it right, you're talking about your Joomla site. If you face some SSL/HTTPS troubles with it, I believe this thread will help you:

Thank you - I need to be more clear I think... This is what I have...
  • Site is https://
  • Joomla site - version 2.5.7
  • Ecwid plugin used - NOT Embed code - didn't work
  • Doesn't show under https:// At All
  • Does show if using http://
  • I direct Customers to https:// because SSL

I will go to the link and pray that the solution is found for the above there. I'm not currently using FB - maybe later, but not now. I'm presently working on my website so I have it OFF line. If any one would like to test it with Chrome or IE9 please say so and I will put it online to show it.
