Great news! We released an Ecwid module for Drupal 7. It's already available for all Drupal 7 users on Drupal site: https://www.drupal.org/project/ecwid_shopping_cart .
According to statistics from Web Technology Surveys, Drupal is the third most popular content management platform after Wordpress and Joomla. The three combine to support over 75% of all CMS-powered websites currently online. All three now have Ecwid plugins available to make Ecwid integration more powerful and easy-to-use for the merchants using those CMS systems.
The new plugin for Drupal 7
We already have a module for Drupal 6, which is outdated. The new module for Drupal 7 inherits the functionality that proved to work fine for Drupal 6 users AND brings a lot of the new features and improvements, which were previously implemented in our Wordpress and Joomla plugins. Among the new features for Ecwid on Drupal are:
- ● Nice and intuitive design for module settings pages
- ● Improved functionality of adjusting store appearance via Drupal blocks
- ● Following up Wordpress and Joomla plugins, the Drupal module supports Google AJAX Crawling technology to help Google index product and category pages in your store (what is Google AJAX Crawling?)
- ● In addition to Google AJAX Crawling, we added a lot of SEO improvements to ensure better store indexation in search engines. Those include:
- - auto-generated meta tags (title, description, canonical) on the product and category pages
- - Microdata-formatted product descriptions to make products appear as rich snippets in search engine results pages.
How to install
See our Help center for the details on how to install the new Drupal module and adjust store appearance.
