Ecwid supports inventory tracking on product level. How it works:

You add the number of products in stock to "Quantity in stock" field in your Ecwid control panel > Catalog > Products > individual product page:

Your customers will see the number of products in stock on a product page in storefront:

Once someone buys a product, Ecwid automatically reduces the number of items in stock. As soon as quantity in stock of a certain product reaches 0, Ecwid marks the product as "Out of stock":

"Add to bag" button disappears, and no one can buy this product.

Inventory tracking feature is available on paid Ecwid plans starting from Venture.

You can create a wait list with the help of third party app for Ecwid: Back in stock notifications You can use this app if your Ecwid account is subscribed to Venture or higher tier plans.

There is another option, you can use it at the end of a season, when all products in store are sold out. Change the text on "Add to bag" button to "Preorder" using special translation code. You will find the instruction in this article
