Remove or shorten Vertical category lines but keep text size
How can I shorten (or hide if I can't shorten) the bars/rules under the vertical category entries? I don't want to reduce the text size, my categories are short words and the text gets too small. It seems like there should be a % or margin or span phrase that would take care of it, but I can't find it.
Ediit: this fix hides the lines, though it does not remove them:

...but I can find NO way to shorten that bar, nor even what it is called. Inspecting it with aardvark I only find 'vertical-table-cell'. If anyone has the mojo to shorten the length of those rules, that would be great to know.
