Introducing the Ecwid App for Cloudflare
Posted Jul 5, 2017 by Matt Kuritsyn, Ecwid Team

Сloudflare has announced the launch of their App Market. Its apps can be installed on any website, regardless of the platform, site builder, or hosting provider.

We created the Ecwid app for the Cloudflare App Market so that it’s possible to start selling online with any website using Cloudflare. Ecwid has become one of the first new apps, and at this point, it is the only shopping cart on the marketplace.

In this post, we’ll tell you about this app and its benefits.

What Is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is a company that speeds up websites, stabilizes internet connections, and protects online business owners from web threats with free SSL certificates. The latter has made Cloudflare very popular all over the world.

Recently, Cloudflare launched their App Market for every user of their services. It includes apps like Google Analytics, Facebook Comments, SoundCloud, and others.

Ecwid Is Now a Part of the Cloudflare App Market

Ecwid has become a part of Cloudflare’s marketplace. Just like on every other available platform, you can add an Ecwid store to any website in five minutes. This will let thousands of users with different websites quickly get an online store without leaving their Cloudflare dashboard.

For those who are about to start selling online on their website, this is significant news. Below we’ll explain how to do it with Ecwid and Cloudflare.

Bonus: If your site builder doesn’t allow you to add JavaScript code and, consequently, you cannot add Ecwid or any other widgets, the apps from the Cloudflare App Market can do a little magic for you — they can add content/code to your website without editing the website code itself!

How to Add a Store to Your Website Using Ecwid and Cloudflare

You have a website and want to start selling online. Great! Simply do the following:

  1. Sign up for Ecwid (free).
  2. Create a Cloudflare account and connect your website (you won’t have to create a new website). It’s free, and it allows you to get a free SSL certificate to protect your store with HTTPS.
  3. As soon as you have connected your website, open the Ecwid App. Here you’ll be able to check out how a store will look on your website even before installing it!
  4. Connect your Ecwid account, choose store location, preview your result.
  5. Click “Finish installing onto your site”.

That’s it – happy selling!

I Already Sell With Ecwid. Is There Something for Me?

In case you already have an Ecwid store, you don’t have to sign up for Ecwid or install the Ecwid app on the Cloudflare App Market — you’ve already got a working online store.

But Cloudflare provides many great services that may come in handy — part of them free. For example, if you haven’t switched to HTTPS, you can get an SSL certificate for free using Cloudflare.
